  Altama Delta Corporation została założona w 1969 w Darien,  stan Georgia gdzie rzeka Altamaha wpada do Oceanu Atlantyckiego. Pierwotnie była to fabryka butów dziecięcych, która została przekształcona na wytwórnię butów "green jungle"dla żołnierzy amerykańskich stacjonujących w Vietnamie.
